The full potential of pivot and folding/slide-in hardware is revealed in situations where small layouts are to be used in an economical and multi-functional way. This is because it ensures that doors do not get in the way when they are opened but are parked in a pocket at the side, therefore saving space. Hawa Sliding Solutions AG is now extending its “Hawa Concepta III” system with a solution for cabinets with small front panels weighing up to 15 kilograms. In conjunction with an update to the “Hawa Folding Concepta III”, the sliding door hardware specialist is increasing the design options with the Pocket hardware family, providing a wide-ranging basis for consistent furniture design.
Hawa designed the “Concepta III 15” for compact wall units, composed cabinets and base units in the kitchen, small bathroom furniture items and solutions in utility rooms for making washing machines or dryers disappear and for applications in the caravanning area or in hotels, e.g. as mini-bars or tea and coffee making stations. The hardware in the new weight class from four to 15 kilograms is designed for front panels from 600 to 1400 mm in height and 350 to 700 mm wide, and for door thicknesses of 18 to 26 mm.
The “small Concepta” is based on the same movement as the rest of the Pocket hardware family: Entire front panels can be slid in at the side when they are opened. This facility for parking in an extremely small space provides free access to the entire interior of the cabinet without the door getting in the way. It can be brought out again with a gentle tap on the handle-less version or using the handle, and closed to create a flush front panel.
Less effort & more comfort when folding
The optimized and newly developed components of “Hawa Folding Concepta III” will provide more operating comfort, easy installation and neat and precise alignment in future.
Hawa paid special attention to implementation in the composed cabinet. A solution was conceived which did not require any milling in the worktop whatsoever, with the goal of designing harmoniously continuous furniture fronts with a filigree gap pattern. The gap between the front and the worktop is a mere 3 to 6 mm thanks to a new guide track solution. The front can be designed in such a way that it covers or accentuates the edge of the worktop.
The new developments in the Pocket hardware family, which will be introduced by Hawa for the first time at Sicam 2026 in Pordenone, extend the options for having a harmoniously flush furniture design with a consistent gap pattern and space-saving slide-in doors. The “Hawa Concepta III” family is now suitable for small front panels and also for large-scale designs up to three meters wide and 2.70 meters in height. Regardless of the height and width, the system makes it possible to plan furniture fronts with one, two or more doors with or without a separating wall, inlaid and overlaid fronts and Push-to-open handle-less variants or Pull versions with a handle. All of the new features can now be planned using the Hawa Configurator. Customers receive configured hardware sets which have been coordinated with their order.
