Protected from driving rain: 3D receiver from BaSys now with sealing lip

Basys added a significant detail to the hinge receiver „STV 135/56 3-D“ for door weights of up to 350 kilograms per pair. The adjustable steel receiver supports the hinge in a stable and reliable manner even in the case of widely projecting hinge models causing high lever forces – as is the case with cladded aluminium shells, for example. Basys has now equipped the slot of the hinge receiver with a sealing lip so that rainwater cannot penetrate the doors in the building shell.

Constantly increasing door weights and larger door leaves require hinge systems with high load-bearing capacity. However, the focus during development is not always only on the hinge, but above all on the hinge receiver. Basys has now optimized the proven hinge receiver „STV 135/56 3-D“, which can withstand heavy loads, for use on doors in the building shell.

In combination with the door hinge „Objecta 2541/160/56-4“, it is used for good reason, especially for outward opening wood-aluminium door elements. The stable, but nevertheless small hinge receiver is able to reliably absorb the strong lever forces on heavy doors and wide projecting hinge models, which are necessary with cladded aluminium shells.

In the worst case, however, driving rain could penetrate the hinge receiver and attack the materials, especially the wood in the subconstruction. To prevent this, Basys equipped the slot into which the door hinge is inserted with a sealing lip. It seals against the penetration of water. All other properties, including the milling dimension of the hinge receiver, are retained. Retrofitting and upgrading is thus also possible at a later date.

BaSys

BaSys stands for Bartels Systembeschläge. The family-owned company run by Albert and Jürgen Bartels has been developing, producing and selling an all-embracing range of building hardware since 1995. With its hinge and striking-plate systems, BaSys regards itself as a problem solver for door and frame manufacturers throughout Europe as well as for national and international customers from retail and the trades. In 2001, the company was the first German manufacturer to present a concealed and three-dimensionally adjustable hinge with the "Pivota" product range, initiating a new design trend in the door industry. At company headquarters in Kalletal, East Westphalia, BaSys employs around 100 members of staff.
